ANNOUNCEMENT
The African Development Economics Society (ADES) is excited to announce a call for papers for the 1st African Workshop in Development Economics, which will take place virtually from 13-14 June 2025.
PRESENTATION
We invite submissions for applied micro and macroeconomic papers. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, agriculture, environment and climate change, conflict, employment, firm level analyses, governance and institutions, economic growth, international trade, migration and forced displacement, risk and insurance, health, education, gender, social norms and culture, intra-household decisions, poverty, and social protection.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
Submit a 3-page abstract or full paper
For 3-page abstract submissions, priority will be given to those with clear contributions, outlining empirical methods, data and showing key results

ADES
The workshop will also mark the launch of the African Development Economics Society (ADES), a collaborative effort aimed at uniting African researchers across the globe. Our goal is to bring together students affiliated with universities in Africa and African students in universities abroad to exchange ideas, share, and promote the visibility of their work.
